Getting to The Beer Cap

The bar is inside The Commons on Soi Thonglor 17, about halfway up Thonglor. The station is further than most listings suggest, so the way you arrive is worth deciding before you set off.

Getting here

Four ways, in the order most people use them

BTS Thong Lo is about 1.3 km away. That is a 15 to 20 minute walk up a road with patchy shade — not the short hop some listings describe. If you are walking it in the middle of the day, take that seriously.

Red truck from the BTS

Come out at Exit 3. Songthaew run the length of Thonglor from outside the station and stop along the road — the normal way locals cover this distance, and a few minutes. The Commons is about halfway up, on the left going north.

Taxi or Grab

A few minutes from the station, longer in evening traffic. Say The Commons Thonglor — the building is well known and drivers do not need the house number.

Walking

15 to 20 minutes north up Thonglor from the station. Straightforward and flat, with pavement the whole way, but hot and not fully shaded.

Driving

The Commons has self-parking on its basement level, and a valet service from 9am to midnight. It is a busy building on an evening, so if parking is the deciding factor, read the next section before you set off.

If you are driving

There is an easier option two kilometres north

Our partner venue Saphan 55 sits at the north end of Thonglor, with BREW inside it. It has free on-site parking, more room for a large group, and the canal boat pier 60 metres away. If you are driving, or there are a lot of you, it is the easier of the two to reach and to sit down at.

On the map

Three points on one road

Thonglor runs roughly north to south for about two kilometres. The bar is in the middle of it. The BTS is at the south end and the owner's other two venues are at the north end, which is the whole of what makes arriving here a decision.
